Wake-Up Call Candle Mat Underneath this piece lies a"Wake Up Call" One subject I keep going back to is poppies. They were one of the first things I painted, and they continue to inspire me. Bright red, flowy blooms, a wildflower among so much green. Here, poppies combine with deep purple flowers, against a lavender (and gold stripes!) background. A luscious bouquet, wild and full of life. I first painted this with a yellow background and it was not working. I decided to leave those bits of yellow
